Côte d’Ivoire, UNDP Launch $99m Programme

Côte d’Ivoire has launched a new five-year cooperation programme with the United Nations Development Programme. The 2026–2030 plan is valued at about 56 billion CFA francs, roughly 99.4 million dollars. It aims to support the country’s ambition to become an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. UNDP Resident Representative Blerta Cela said the initiative builds on over 65 years of partnership. The programme focuses on governance, institutional reform, and job creation for youth and women. It also promotes growth in digital, green, and blue economy sectors.

Targets include creating over 100,000 jobs and protecting more than 10 million people from climate risks. Planning Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba urged strong coordination to ensure real impact despite existing development challenges.
