Ghanaian Artist Sets Leaf Print Record

Ghanaian visual artist Sharon Dede Padi has been certified by Guinness World Records for creating the Largest Leaf Print Painting. The artwork measures 54.33 square metres and highlights Ghana’s history and culture. It was created using prints from neem, plantain, and other local leaves. The piece was completed at the National Theatre of Ghana in July 2025. Ms Padi said the project also speaks against deforestation and illegal mining.

The leaf prints together form the Ghanaian flag. She received technical guidance from UNESCO during the process. The artist plans to display the work at tourist sites under the Black Star Experience initiative and promote young talents through her foundation.
