Takoradi Port Sets Maritime Record

Takoradi Port will receive the largest bulk carrier ever to berth in West Africa. The vessel, MV CBS Years, arrives on January 27, 2026. It has a massive capacity of 300,000 deadweight tonnes. The arrival supports Ghana Manganese Company’s 2026 export target. It is expected to boost bulk exports and national revenue.

GPHA and GMC carried out extensive safety and technical preparations. Port staff received specialised training in China for the operation. The event marks Ghana’s growing strength as a regional maritime hub.
