Togo and Austria signed a memorandum of understanding in New York during the 80th UN General Assembly. The agreement was signed by Togolese Foreign Minister Robert Dussey and Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
It shows the two nations’ commitment to safe and regular migration. The partnership focuses on youth employment, training, and entrepreneurship. It will also support professional, academic, and circular mobility. Austria hopes to address labor shortages by diversifying migration partnerships in Africa.
Togo aims to give its youth more opportunities through training and jobs. The deal follows Austria’s 2023 opening of an embassy in Lomé, deepening bilateral ties.
