Togo has improved access to drinking water across the country. The national coverage rate increased from 60% in 2020 to 72% in 2025. Rural access has also reached about 77%, showing steady progress. The results were announced by Séna Alipui during World Water Day 2026. Authorities say investments in water infrastructure helped achieve this growth.
Solar-powered water stations have been installed in several areas. Despite the progress, some inequalities still exist, especially for women and girls. The government has also set up a fund to support water projects and address climate-related challenges.
