Togo Launches AMRAT to Improve Financial Risk Management

Togo has a new association called AMRAT to help manage risks in banks and insurance. Its first big event, Risk & Resilience Days, will be held in Lomé on April 16. Bankers, insurers, and experts will meet to talk about new risks like cyber threats and climate problems. AMRAT was created in December 2025 and wants to build a permanent space for discussion. The National Credit Council recently warned about rising non-performing loans in banks and microfinance.

The event is supported by the Togolese banking and insurers’ associations and the Chamber of Commerce. AMRAT also works with international groups in Africa and beyond. Its goal is to make risk management more structured and effective in Togo.
