Togo has unveiled a 2026–2028 geopolitical and security strategy aimed at addressing instability in the Sahel region. The plan was presented at a summit in Lomé attended by regional blocs and international partners.
Officials say the strategy focuses on political dialogue, counterterrorism, and economic integration, while positioning Togo as a mediator. The move comes amid rising insecurity linked to extremist groups across the region.
