UNCTAD Hosts Women E-Commerce Meeting

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will host a regional meeting for women in e-commerce. The event will take place in Lomé on May 6–7, 2026. It is part of the eTrade for Women program. Participants from several countries will gather to build digital business skills. The meeting will include sessions on improving online performance and accessing finance.

It will also offer opportunities to create partnerships within the digital ecosystem. The initiative comes as many African women remain active in informal trade with limited growth. Organisers say e-commerce can expand markets and support inclusion under the African Continental Free Trade Area framework.
