The Korean Embassy in Ghana has launched the 2025 Korean Cultural Festival with a theatre production titled Sim Majorley.
This play is a Ghanaian adaptation of the Korean classic Simcheongjeon, reimagined by playwright Latif Abubakar. The show blends Korean storytelling with Ga cultural elements to promote cross-cultural understanding. It will be performed in Tema on August 2 and in Accra on August 9. Ambassador Park Kyongsig called it a symbol of Korea-Ghana cultural partnership.
The festival will also feature K-pop dances, Korean food, and tech exhibitions. Organisers aim to reach audiences beyond Accra by including Tema in the lineup. Tickets for Sim Majorley go on sale later in July, with strong interest expected.
