Togo has inaugurated two new large aircraft parking bays at Lomé Airport. The ceremony took place on July 16, 2025, with key aviation officials and China’s ambassador attending.
Built by Chinese company Witek, the facility covers over 35,000 square meters and cost about $6.5 million. It will allow more commercial and official flights to park at the same time. Authorities say it will improve airport safety, raise revenue, and boost efficiency. The project is part of Togo’s 2025 development plan to strengthen Lomé’s role as a regional air hub. Officials also noted growing air traffic in recent years. The expansion is expected to improve connectivity and attract more regional transit.
