Côte d’Ivoire has launched a major reform to strengthen transparency and governance. The workshop, held at the Haute Autorité pour la Bonne Gouvernance, focuses on drafting a new whistleblower protection law. The meeting brings together government officials, civil society, and international experts. It aims to create a legal framework to protect whistleblowers, which does not yet exist in the country. Officials say this reform is key to improving the fight against corruption.
Experts highlighted that whistleblowers often face risks because protection usually comes too late. The HABG president, Épiphane Zoro Bi Ballo, stressed their vital role in exposing wrongdoing. Authorities hope the new law will improve accountability, public spending, and the business environment.
