The Senate’s Economic and Financial Affairs Committee approved the 2026–2030 National Development Plan on April 27, 2026, in Yamoussoukro. The plan was presented by Planning Minister Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba on behalf of the government. Senators reviewed it to ensure alignment between national priorities and regional development needs. This stage comes before a final vote in a full Senate session. The plan outlines Côte d’Ivoire’s economic strategy with a total budget of 114,838.5 billion CFA francs.
About 70% of the funding is expected from the private sector. It targets annual economic growth of 7.2% and a per capita income of $4,500 by 2030. The plan has already been approved by the Council of Ministers and National Assembly and now awaits final Senate approval.
