Nigeria has inaugurated the International Media and Information Literacy Institute (IMILI) in Abuja, the first of its kind globally under UNESCO Category 2 status. The institute will focus on combating misinformation and strengthening digital literacy.
Officials say IMILI will serve as a hub for research, training, and policy development in media and information governance. It is designed to address challenges posed by AI, digital platforms, and disinformation.
