A fuel tanker fire caused panic in Abobo-N’Dotré near Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire. Emergency officers quickly arrived to control the flames. At least four people suffered serious burns during the incident. The victims were sent to a hospital in Cocody for treatment. Residents and traders fled the area as thick smoke filled the sky.
Authorities have started investigations into the cause of the fire. Safety officials are warning transport companies to follow regulations carefully. Security monitoring around fuel transport operations has also increased.
