Search and rescue operations have ended at the site of the collapsed three-storey shopping complex in Alakija, Lagos State. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed that nine people died, while twenty-seven others were rescued alive.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered structural integrity tests on nearby buildings and directed a full investigation into the incident. Authorities also extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished survivors a speedy recovery.
