The government of Côte d’Ivoire is taking early steps to prepare for the rainy season. According to Interior Minister Vagondo Diomandé, the aim is to avoid past flood disasters. A key meeting was held with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé and Vice-Prime Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara. Weather forecasts predict heavy rainfall of up to 1500 mm, increasing flood risks. The government plans public awareness campaigns and drainage cleaning.
Risk-prone areas will be identified and closely monitored. Minister Amédé Kouakou Koffi inspected drainage projects in Cocody and Yopougon. Citizens are urged to act responsibly to help reduce flooding.
