Côte d’Ivoire has launched a new cooperation programme with UNICEF for 2026–2030, valued at 88.8 billion FCFA. The announcement was made by Planning and Development Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba in Abidjan on February 9, 2026.
The programme will focus on child protection, health, water, hygiene and sanitation, nutrition, education, and social inclusion. It will also promote stronger support for adolescents and youth development. The minister said the initiative places children at the centre of national priorities and supports their survival, protection, and participation in society. He added that the programme aligns with Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND 2026–2030).
UNICEF Representative Jean-François Basse highlighted achievements under the 2021–2025 plan, including civil registration for three million infants and vitamin A support for 4.5 million children yearly. He urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure the effective implementation of the new programme.
