Ghanaian teacher Abigail Agyeiwaa has won the 2026 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award for Sub-Saharan Africa.
She emerged from over 1,500 nominees across the region.
Agyeiwaa teaches English at Mangoase Senior High School in Ghana.
Her recognition comes a year after another Ghanaian educator won the global prize.
Ghana is now the only country with back-to-back regional or global winners.
Agyeiwaa is widely known for promoting education in underserved rural communities.
Through her KAGAS Foundation Ghana, she supports health awareness and gender empowerment initiatives.
She has also worked to reduce barriers preventing vulnerable children from staying in school.
The 2026 competition attracted more than 12,000 nominations from 126 countries.
Public voting for the global winner closes on May 13.
