Niger’s military government has suspended nine French-language media outlets over allegations of threatening national stability.
The affected organisations include France 24, RFI, TV5 Monde, AFP and Jeune Afrique.
Authorities said the ban applies across digital platforms, satellite services and mobile applications.
RFI and France 24 had earlier been suspended after the 2023 coup.
The BBC was also banned in Niger in December 2024.
The move reflects a broader anti-Western media crackdown across the Sahel region.
Burkina Faso and Mali have also imposed restrictions on several French media organisations.
Meanwhile, two Nigerien journalists were released after months in detention.
However, six journalists remain imprisoned in the country.
Niger recently dropped to 120th place on the global press freedom index.
