A commemorative gold coin launched in 2021 to honour Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been presented to key national figures. Recipients include the King himself and three Ghanaian Presidents. These are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, John Agyekum Kufuor, and John Dramani Mahama. Otumfuo received the honour with humility, dedicating it to Asanteman and the nation. Akufo-Addo described the coin as a fitting tribute to the King’s legacy.
He also praised Otumfuo’s role in securing lasting peace in Dagbon. Kufuor commended the King’s mediation efforts, saying they deserved global recognition. Mahama highlighted Otumfuo’s influence on Ghana’s stability and democratic progress.
