John Dramani Mahama has received an honorary doctorate from Yonsei University in South Korea. The award recognises his leadership and support for democratic governance. It also honours his efforts to promote international cooperation. The ceremony took place on March 13, 2026, according to Jubilee House.
The recognition highlights the strong relationship between Ghana and South Korea. Both countries continue to cooperate in education, innovation, and development. President Mahama is currently on a five-day working visit to South Korea. During the trip, he also commissioned a modern LPG vessel to strengthen energy cooperation between the two nations.
