Former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi says his exit from football administration denied Ghana a chance to lead CAF. He said he was well placed to become CAF president before leaving office in 2018.
At the time, Nyantakyi served as CAF’s first vice president. This position made him the most senior official after the CAF president. He described himself as next in line for the top continental role. Nyantakyi said his departure ended what could have been a historic moment for Ghana.
However, he believes Ghana can still produce a CAF president in the future. Nyantakyi resigned in 2018 after corruption allegations rocked Ghanaian football.
