Togo recorded an average inflation rate of only 0.1% in February 2026. The figures were released by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic and Demographic Studies. This level is far below the 3% inflation limit set by the West African Economic and Monetary Union for its member states. Food prices helped keep inflation low, especially cereals which dropped by 17.8% after a good harvest. However, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by about 13% over the past year.
Healthcare and restaurant services also recorded small price increases. Some foods like tomatoes, peppers, and smoked fish rose sharply in February due to seasonal shortages. Overall, Togo remains one of the most stable economies in the WAEMU region in terms of prices.
