The Nigeria Revenue Service and Joint Revenue Board have introduced a unified Tax ID system for all taxable individuals and businesses. The initiative is aimed at improving tax compliance, eliminating duplication, and modernizing tax administration nationwide.
Authorities say the new system will simplify registration, filing, and payment processes while improving transparency and taxpayer tracking. The Tax ID will also replace the current Tax Identification Number Validation API used by government agencies and financial institutions.
