Education Minister Tunji Alausa says the Federal Government plans to increase UBEC’s share of the Consolidated Revenue Fund from 2 percent to 4 percent. He said the move will strengthen foundational learning and help tackle poor literacy and the out-of-school children crisis.
Speaking at the Education World Forum in London, Alausa highlighted reforms already underway across 15 states. He cited programs in Lagos, Kwara, and Bayelsa as examples of improved literacy outcomes, while noting that a new National Policy on Foundational Literacy is being finalized.
