Eight persons have lost their lives while seventeen others sustained injuries in a road crash along the Funtua-Katsina highway in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State. The Federal Road Safety Corps blamed the accident on wrongful overtaking involving a commercial bus and a tricycle.
FRSC officials said twenty-five people were involved in the crash, with rescue teams responding shortly after receiving a distress call. The injured are receiving treatment, while motorists have again been urged to obey traffic regulations to prevent avoidable accidents.
