Liberian War Victims Seek Crimes Court

Victims of Liberia’s civil wars are urging the Senate Judiciary Committee to speed up legislation establishing a War and Economic Crimes Court. Survivors say they have participated directly in drafting the bill before the Legislature.

War victims’ group leader Peterson Sayon praised President Joseph Boakai for supporting the court’s establishment. He warned that further delays would prolong survivors’ wait for accountability as lawmakers work to harmonise competing bills.
