Liberian President Joseph Boakai has signed the Cybercrime Act and Data Protection Act into law. The government says the legislation establishes important legal frameworks for addressing digital offences and protecting personal information.
The Cybercrime Act targets offences including unauthorised computer access, digital fraud and identity theft. Authorities say successful implementation will depend on institutional capacity, public awareness and effective enforcement.
