John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to reject ill-gotten wealth and embrace integrity as the nation works to rebuild its values. In a message to Ghanaians in the diaspora for Ghana Independence Day on March 6, he said national progress requires both policy reforms and a change in attitudes.
He stressed that rebuilding the country demands honesty, accountability, and responsible leadership. According to him, resetting Ghana also means reshaping the relationship between leaders and citizens. Mahama warned that development cannot last if society celebrates wealth gained through dishonest means. He said children must be taught that integrity is essential and that true success comes from contributing to national progress.
The message forms part of the government’s broader “reset” agenda aimed at strengthening institutions and promoting transparency. He also encouraged the diaspora to support development and promote values that build public trust in Ghana.
