Côte d’Ivoire Prepares for Heavy Rains

The government of Côte d’Ivoire is taking early steps to prepare for the rainy season. According to Interior Minister Vagondo Diomandé, the aim is to avoid past flood disasters. A key meeting was held with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé and Vice-Prime Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara. Weather forecasts predict heavy rainfall of up to 1500 mm, increasing flood risks. The government plans public awareness campaigns and drainage cleaning.

Risk-prone areas will be identified and closely monitored. Minister Amédé Kouakou Koffi inspected drainage projects in Cocody and Yopougon. Citizens are urged to act responsibly to help reduce flooding.
