The Federal Government has urged journalists to avoid giving excessive publicity to terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements. Information Minister Mohammed Idris made the appeal during a national security summit organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the DSS in Abuja.
He stressed that national security and media operations are closely linked, noting that peace is essential for journalism to thrive. Participants at the summit also emphasized stronger collaboration between security agencies and the media in promoting democracy and public interest.
