The Independent National Electoral Commission has recorded over 3.4 million new voter registrations in the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise. Of the total, over 2 million registrations were completed online, while more than 1.3 million were processed through physical centres across Nigeria.
Jigawa State recorded the highest number, followed by Lagos and Kano. Youths aged 18 to 34 made up over 68 percent of registrants, while women accounted for nearly 56 percent. Students formed the largest occupational group, and over 48,000 persons with disabilities were also captured.
