President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting religious harmony across Nigeria. He made the pledge while receiving the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, in Abuja during activities marking 50 years of diplomatic ties between Nigeria and the Holy See.
The President praised Pope Leo XIV’s peace efforts and pledged increased investment in security to prevent youth radicalisation. Archbishop Gallagher described Nigeria as a key partner of the Holy See and commended the government’s support for the Catholic Church.
