The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih, has praised Ethiopia’s refugee integration programme during a visit to the Ura settlement in Benishangul-Gumuz State. The settlement hosts people displaced by the conflict in neighbouring Sudan.
Salih described the Makatet programme as an innovative model that promotes inclusion and cooperation between refugees and host communities. He said the initiative could serve as a global example for localized development and refugee support.
